The British Virgin Islands, or simply BVI, is an incredible location and one of the top charter destinations in the world. Boaters love these islands because their pleasant climate, safe cruising areas, protected anchorages, steady trade winds and the short distances between islands. Add to that more than one hundred dive sites and coral reefs, the islands’ uniqueness and natural beauty, and you have a perfect destination with lots of potential.

If you are looking for an incredible all-inclusive experience, chartering a crewed catamaran in the BVI is a great starting point for the ultimate sailing holiday. Here are 4 more reasons why:

1.- THE REGION –  The BVI are a chain of 60 different islands and cays that reach all the way down the Sir Francis Drake Channel. The sheltered waters between the islands and the nice and constant breeze that blows from the east, make them a true sailor’s paradise. You can easily spend several weeks visiting different islands and anchorages every day, enjoying the stunning scenery and crystal-clear waters. The British Virgin Islands are also one of the top 10 dive destinations in the world, thanks to their very healthy coral reefs and fabulous wreck diving spots.

2.- THE SAILING SEASON – The Caribbean has a longer sailing season than the Mediterranean. The high season in the BVI starts in late November and goes on until April. The time around Christmas and the New Year is the busiest, and some of the most popular catamarans are reserved up to a year in advance. The months from April to the end of July or beginning of August tend to be quieter, making it a great time to charter and take advantage of the lower prices.

3.- THE CATAMARANS – Catamarans offer you great stability on the water, as well as large living spaces and superior relaxing areas both inside and outside. They have a great selection of water toys and many of them offer scuba diving on board.

4.- THE CREWS – The BVI catamarans we offer all have fantastic crews with a passion for what they do and who take pride in achieving the highest industry standards through their hard work. When you book one of these yachts, you will be able to tailor your charter holiday to accommodate yourself and your party’s preferences in terms of activities, shore excursions, sports and delicious food.
